Angi is a marketplace where contractors can advertise their home improvement services, and homeowners can hire those contractors for home improvement jobs. But how much does Angi cost? After all, it has to make money to run its own operations.
Angi.com itself typically doesn’t cost much to use if you’re a homeowner looking for home improvement help. It doesn’t charge to create an account, and it doesn’t charge extra fees on top of what you pay a contractor to hire them. There is a premium membership option, but it’s relatively inexpensive, and it can actually save you money by providing discounts on pre-priced services.
If you’re a contractor looking to use Angi to advertise, though, the platform can be significantly more expensive. Like with homeowners, you aren’t charged to create a basic account. However, you’ll likely need Angi to deliver leads to you in order to get jobs, and that costs money. There’s also a premium contractor membership option that provides a host of other benefits on top of the ability to get leads, but it’s far more expensive than the homeowner one.
This article will go into detail about Angi’s pricing for memberships, job leads, and more.
Is Angi free to use?
Angi can be used for free by both homeowners and contractors. Homeowners can purchase a subscription-based premium membership to get home improvement guidance and discounts on pre-priced bookings. Contractors can pay to advertise their services and get job leads, among other benefits.
How much does Angi charge homeowners?
Angi doesn’t charge homeowners extra fees for booking contractors. While prices are mostly set by contractors, they’re based largely on the type of work requested, as well as the demand and competition for that work in a particular area. Angi’s optional premium membership costs money, though.
How much does Angi cost for contractors?
Contractors can create a profile for their business on Angi for free. They can also receive communications and reviews from homeowners, and import past reviews of their business from Google to Angi. Angi also offers two paid services for contractors: Angi Ads and Angi Leads.
Angi Ads (a.k.a. Angi Pro Ads or Angi Pro Premium) costs $300/year. Among other benefits, it allows you to receive leads for jobs. Though you can set your own budget for leads, each one typically costs $15-$85.
Angi Leads (formerly HomeAdvisor) is more of a dedicated lead generation service. It doesn’t cost money to sign up for, but leads typically cost more to receive (anywhere from $15-$100) as they are often for bigger-ticket projects.
How much is an Angi Key membership for homeowners?
Angi Key is Angi’s premium membership for homeowners, costing $30/year. It provides a 20% discount off pre-priced jobs from Angi Services (previously Handy for Pros). It also offers access to a specialist who can provide advice and assistance with home improvement, including using Angi’s functions.
Basic vs. Angi Key membership
There are two main benefits to having an Angi Key membership over a basic one. The first is that whenever you book a pre-priced Angi Services job, you automatically get a 20% discount applied to the cost of the job.
The second is that you are given access, via text message, to a home specialist with whom you can consult on various aspects of home improvement. These include:
Creating a roadmap for your project
Finding the right contractor for each job
Booking contractors who fit your schedule
Any other questions about specific tasks, or the general process
Angi also claims to have other limited-time offers that are exclusive to Angi Key members.
Is an Angi Key membership worth it?
Whether Angi Key is worth it for you depends on how often you plan on home improvements/maintenance, and how much help you need with the process. If you’re planning on doing a lot of work and need a lot of advice on pro selection, scheduling, the DIY parts of a job, etc., then it may be useful.
The crux of that assessment is twofold. First is how an Angi Key membership provides discounts for pre-priced Angi Services, as well as other occasional exclusive promotions. Second is how it puts you in touch with a home specialist, whom you can consult for advice or assistance with picking the right contractors, scheduling jobs, and learning how to do home improvement right.

How much does Angi Ads & Angi Leads cost for pros?
Angi (Pro) Ads costs $300/year and provides contractors with increased profile visibility, dedicated support, hardware discounts, and lead generation (leads cost between $15-$85). Angi Leads has no upfront cost and is a dedicated lead generation platform, with leads costing between $15-$100.
Angi Pro Free vs. Angi Pro Ads
We already talked about how Angi Key is an upgraded membership for homeowners searching Angi for contractors to hire. Angi Pro Ads – sometimes simply called Angi Ads – is the upgraded membership for contractors wanting to advertise their services on Angi. The following table outlines the basic features a contractor gets with an account on Angi, and what additional perks they get with an Angi Pro Ads membership.

Is Angi Ads / Leads worth it for pros?
The effectiveness of Angi Ads and Angi Leads is hotly debated. Some complain the number and quality of leads the services deliver is inconsistent. Others argue this inconsistency is caused by businesses not understanding how the services work, and/or using poor overall marketing strategies.

Important Angi membership & cost FAQs
Here are some other questions that frequently get asked about Angi costs and memberships.
What happened to Angi’s Green, Silver, and Gold memberships?
Prior to 2021, Angi had three membership options for homeowners: Green, Silver, and Gold. Green was the free membership option and also gave members a digital subscription to Angi magazine (delivered monthly via email). The Silver membership cost $25/year and provided a 20% discount off pre-priced services in addition to the digital magazine subscription. The Gold membership cost $100/year and, in addition to the 20% discount and digital magazine subscription, members also received a print edition of Angi magazine quarterly by mail.
After Angi Key was introduced in 2021, the Silver and Gold membership options were retired. However, Angi members who have an active Angi Silver membership or Angi Gold membership from before Angi Key was introduced can continue to receive the benefits of those memberships, plus any new benefits that Angi Key introduces.
Is there any sort of formal commitment for Angi Key, Angi Ads, or Angi Leads?
Not for Angi Key or Angi Leads, but there is one for Angi Ads. An Angi Ads membership requires a contractual 1-year subscription. If you cancel it early, you must pay 35% of the remaining value of the contract as a termination fee.
To learn more details about what’s required to actually cancel an active Angi membership, be sure to review our guide on how to cancel an Angi membership and delete your account, as there’s a lot you should know before signing up and committing to a membership.
What affects Angi’s cost per lead for contractors?
The cost of leads generated by Angi Ads and Angi Leads depends largely on what type of service is needed, in what geographic area the service is needed, and how much competition there is for providing that service in that geographic area.
As a contractor, can I control the type and number of leads I get to manage what Angi leads cost?
Yes, and there are several ways you can do this. One is by modifying your spend target; this is the rough amount you wish to spend on acquiring leads within a 28-day cycle. Another is by changing which services you offer and/or which geographic areas you’re willing to work in. A third is by opting out of special types of leads that don’t count towards your spend target (such as Instant Bookings and Opportunities). Finally, you can choose to temporarily stop receiving any type of leads for your company.
How to get Angi promo codes & discounts
As mentioned, signing up for Angi Key gets you a 20% discount whenever you book a service with a fixed price from Angi Services. However, there are other limited-time promotions offered on Angi that can be sent to you by email if you’re an Angi Key member.
Sometimes, an Angi promo code can also be found on general coupon code aggregator websites like Coupon Cabin, Retail Me Not, and Don’t Pay Full. Just make sure to do your research beforehand to find safe and reliable coupon sites, and read the Angi coupon code’s terms to be certain that you’re eligible for it.
