How to Change Your Facebook Password

If you suspect someone might know the password for your Facebook account, or just want to keep would-be snoops guessing, you can easily change your Facebook log-in password.

To edit your login password for your Facebook account:

1. Go to www.facebook.com in your web browser and log in.

2. Click the small triangle in the upper-right corner and select Settings from the drop-down menu.

3. Select your General account settings (they should be selected already), and click Edit beside “Password”.

4. Click in each of the boxes marked “Current”, “New”, and “Re-Type New” and type in your old password, a new password, and a repeat of your new password (they will all appear as bullet points to keep them private). Click Save Changes to finish changing your password, or click Cancel if you don’t want to change your password after all.


You will receive a confirmation email from Facebook that your password has been changed (if you decided to do so). That’s about it for how to change your Facebook password! Be sure to write your new password down so that you don’t forget it, and store it someplace safe!
