We all have our days where we just want to be lazy and relax, and not have to spend time in the kitchen preparing and cooking. Getting food delivered can be a time-saver, and minimize the amount of effort needed for you to enjoy dinner with your family. However, maybe you’re tired of the well-known food delivery option, pizza. Luckily, food delivery apps can give you access to endless cuisine options.

Food delivery apps are available on mobile devices to allow you to have food delivered from your favorite local restaurants from the comfort of your own home. Delivery is usually reasonably priced (or free, in some cases) and saves you from having to go pick something up and do the cooking yourself.

We’re going to tell you about fourteen of the best apps to order food and get it delivered to your door, as well as answer some other questions you might have about how these apps work. If you don’t know much about how these apps work, jump down to our quick explanation. If not, let’s get into which ones we recommend for you to try out.

Top 14 food ordering apps on Android and iOS

1. UberEATS

UberEats logo

Popular ride-sharing app Uber has a “sister” app called UberEATS. Like Uber, the UberEATS service is available in major cities all over the world. Enter your address, and you’ll be shown a list of available restaurants you can get delivery from in your area. See ratings from other users, and get an estimate of how long it will take to receive your food before you even place an order!

You can search for a specific restaurant, cuisine, or dish, and see which restaurants match your search criteria. Easily order and pay within the app using your credit or debit card, or your PayPal account. Once your order is delivered, you’ll also have the option to tip your courier if you wish.

Many restaurants can be delivered for free if your order total meets a minimum amount (e.g., over $20).

Once you place your order, a courier in the area of the restaurant you ordered from will be matched to you, and you will be able to track their location and see how long it will take for them to get to you. How do food delivery apps work?

Food delivery apps work by partnering with restaurants in a particular city, and having drivers register for delivery positions. You enter your address into the app, and you’ll be shown a list of available local restaurants. You can order and pay through the app, and get food delivered to your door.

Some restaurants may be available for delivery through several different apps, so check out a few services that are available in your area and see which one has the best delivery price or if any are offering deals. Different apps may also have a different selection of restaurants, so if you don’t find your favorite restaurant on one app, it’s possible it may be available on another.

Some food delivery apps will also allow you to track your delivery so you have an idea of when they will arrive with your order.

Those are all the best apps for ordering food and having it delivered to your home. Which ones have you tried? If you want to watch a movie or tv show while enjoying your meal, check out our courses on Netflix or Hulu to learn how to use these popular video streaming services.
