Can I find someone on Tinder for free?

Tinder is free to download and use. However, you are only allowed to “like” a certain number of other users, unless you buy a subscription to Tinder’s premium extension, known as Tinder Plus. In addition to allowing unlimited “likes”, subscribing to Tinder Plus also unlocks additional features.

How Tinder makes money

Tinder actually didn’t start making money with their app until March 2015, when they introduced Tinder Plus. Now, the majority of their money comes from charging users subscription fees to their premium services. In July 2015, it was estimated that the app had over half a million paid subscribers.

What is Tinder Plus?

Tinder Plus is a subscription-based premium extension of Tinder. In addition to allowing you to “like” an unlimited number of other users, a subscription to Tinder Plus unlocks three other functions that were frequently requested by users. They are called “Super Like”, “Rewind”, and “Passport”.

The “Super Like” function allows you to notify another user that you like them. If your profile appears on their version of Tinder as a suggested match, it will be highlighted with a star icon to let that person know that you gave them a “Super Like”. Each user is allowed one “Super Like” per day, but with a Tinder Plus subscription, you are allowed to use “Super Like” up to five times per day.

The “Rewind” function allows you to undo an action with regard to the last suggested match that you viewed. For example, if you chose to ignore them or give them a “Super Like”, but then have second thoughts, you can use the “Rewind” function to make your decision over again. However, once you make a decision on another suggested match beyond that one, your choice is locked in and cannot be changed.

The “Passport” function allows you to change the geographical location assigned to you on Tinder, so that you can look for potential matches on Tinder if you’re away from your home area.

How much does Tinder Plus cost?

The cost of Tinder Plus depends on two main things: where you live in the world, and your age. For example, if you live in the United States, a Tinder Plus subscription will cost you about $10 per month if you’re under the age of 30. If you’re 30 years of age or older, it will cost about $20 per month.

This is still relatively cheap, though, when compared to a website like eHarmony.com, which costs about $60 per month to use. Granted, you can get rates of $10 per month or $20 per month on eHarmony, but that requires you to sign up for a year — or even two years — at a time.
